Annual Appeal
Our Annual Appeal raises thousands of pounds for good causes including a local food bank and humanist schools in Uganda. Which charity, or charities, will benefit from the Appeal is decided each year at the AGM in March. The Appeal then runs until 31st December.
The Appeal was initially started in memory of Jane Bannister who was Chair of Dorset Humanists until 2009. Jane, who died in 2013, supported charities that helped homeless young people and women seeking refuge from domestic violence. We have raised thousands of pounds for homelessness hostels including Michael House in Boscombe, Refuge for women, and Mosaic for bereaved children in Dorset.
