Our Purpose
- To promote flourishing in the one life that we have.
- We explore ways of being happy, contented and enjoying life (flourishing) as individuals and as members of communities.
- To promote the ethical ideals of humanism in our communities and globally.
- Humanism focusses on how to live a good life and decide what is right and what is wrong from a human perspective.
- To create opportunities for learning, discussion and the sharing of ideas in a spirit of tolerant and open-minded enquiry.
- Humanists love to learn and exchange ideas and this lies at the heart of our events.
- To serve the needs of the humanist community in Dorset and also contribute to the whole community.
- For example, we raise money for a local food bank and we have a pastoral team for our members.
- To maintain affiliation to Humanists UK, Humanists International and the National Secular Society.
- We support and promote the values and aims of these organisations.
